Thouk Sam Ang, 11years old. Siem Reap, Cambodia. Thouk says that she was pressured by a local NGO to testify against a foriegner. Intiallly without her mother's knowledge, the agency held her for two weeks in order to obtain testimony. She says the agency told her that the man had confessed and that she should "sue him and take all his money". She did not testify. The magazine asked me to photograph Thouk so that she would be difficult to identify. Given that she lives in a small tight knit vilage this case has damaged Thouk standing in the community. Her mother is also concerned about the power of local aide groups and police who come off looking ethically challenged in the article.
