A farming family in Korla.  This family uses traditional methods of irrigation to maintain its cotton fields.  They have seen their well fall by 20 meters. They complain that the only solution to maintaining the water levels at their current state is to discourage the further transformation of of desert into arable land.  They have seen their farming profits increase substantially since they bagan farming in 1987.
